For the adult child who keeps meaning to ask
You've thought about sitting down with your mum or dad to capture their stories — the war years, the first job, how they met, the lessons they'd pass on. Life keeps getting in the way. Memoir Hive does the heavy lifting so their story doesn't slip away unwritten.
What's included
Everything they need to tell their story
No blank pages, no deadlines, no computer skills required — just gentle guidance and a beautiful result.
Guided questions, not a blank page
Your parent answers simple prompts about their childhood, career, family, and the moments that shaped them — at their own pace, in any order.
A written biography, automatically
Memoir Hive turns their answers into a flowing narrative biography — no writing experience needed. They can regenerate it any time they add more.
Shareable with the whole family
The finished memoir lives at its own web address. Share it privately with family or publish it publicly so everyone can read Grandma or Grandpa's story.
No rush — take as long as you need
There's no deadline. Your parent can answer a few questions today and come back next month. The biography grows richer every time they add to it.
Kept safe for generations
The story is preserved on Memoir Hive — not lost in a notebook or a fading memory. Future grandchildren will be able to read it too.
A printed book, if you want one later
A printed book is not included in the gift. When the story feels complete it can be sent to Real Life Stories to arrange a book separately.
How it works
Three simple steps
Step 01
You choose and pay
Pay US$20 once and add a personal message. You never need a Memoir Hive account to give the gift.
Step 02
They receive a private invitation
We email your parent or grandparent a private invitation, now or on a date you choose — or you can print a gift certificate to hand over in person.
Step 03
They create their own account and tell their story
They sign up with their own email and answer gentle questions at their own pace. Memoir Hive writes their answers into a life story they own and can share with family.
Questions
Common questions about gifting a memoir
What is a memoir gift?+
It is a paid place for your parent or grandparent to record their life story. They answer simple questions, and Memoir Hive turns their answers into a written biography the family can read.
How does the gift work?+
You pay once and write a message. They receive a private email invitation (or a printed certificate), create their own Memoir Hive account, and own their memoir from the first word.
Does the recipient need an email address?+
Yes. They need their own email address to create their account. A family member can help them set it up and sit with them while they answer the questions.
Is this suitable for someone who does not enjoy writing?+
Yes. They answer short questions in their own words — or say them aloud while a family member types — and Memoir Hive does the writing.
Is the payment one-off or recurring?+
US$20 is paid once. It does not renew and nothing further is ever charged.
Is a printed book included?+
No. The gift is a digital memoir. A printed book can be arranged separately later through Real Life Stories.
Can the memoir stay private?+
Yes. The memoir belongs to the recipient, and they decide whether it stays private, is shared only with family, or is published publicly.
Can I give it for Christmas or a birthday?+
Yes. You can schedule the invitation email to arrive on Christmas morning or their birthday, or print a certificate to put in a card.
